The charm of VIP's Cafe lies in its menu, which dazzles with a rich variety of all-day breakfast staples and chef specials that cater to every craving. If you adore crispy, golden hash browns cooked to perfection or fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth pancakes, you’re in for a treat. Their French Toast and Belgian Waffles are especially divine, with options such as the Berries & Cream Waffle and the indulgent Stuffed French Toast Orange Marmalade & Cream Cheese that add a comforting sweet note to your meal.

For those seeking savory satisfaction, VIP’s serves hearty plates like the Fried Chicken & Waffle, a genius combination of crispy, juicy chicken paired with a perfectly crisp waffle, and the classic Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs that tastes like a hug on a plate. The Irish Eggs Benedict with Corned Beef Hash brings a flavorful twist on brunch tradition, while the Breakfast Burrito and Chili Cheese Omelet present bold, robust flavors that awaken the palate.

What truly elevates the experience here, aside from the thoughtfully crafted dishes, is the inviting, diner-style ambiance. Whether seated inside a cozy booth, enjoying the casual comfort of counter seating, or basking in the sunshine on the outdoor patio, guests feel an immediate sense of belonging. The atmosphere is lively yet unpretentious — a classic neighborhood spot where friendly service and quality food form the heart of the experience.

Many patrons rave not only about the food but also the attentive and welcoming service. Elizabeth Acosta Curdt, D.C., praises the care that goes into every dish and the exceptional hospitality that elevates a simple breakfast into an extraordinary moment. Ambrose Rodriguez highlights the seamless service even during busy times and their perfectly cooked hash browns that offer irresistible crunch with every bite.

Longtime regulars echo this sentiment, describing VIP’s Cafe as a “hidden gem” where families grow alongside the restaurant. The consistency of warmth and flavor—particularly their famed pancakes—creates a true home-away-from-home feeling. For those who appreciate authenticity and generous portions, the highly recommended Breakfast Burrito and fresh-squeezed orange juice are not to be missed, as noted by Otto Cyrus, who calls the experience “hands down one of the best breakfast places in a very long time.”

While some might find the flavors subtly balanced rather than overly sweet or bold—a nuance that Nathan Campbell appreciates about the humble mom-and-pop vibe—the majority find VIP’s Cafe a dependable destination for gratifying meals that satisfy both the appetite and the soul.

Whether you seek a classic comfort breakfast or a few chef-curated specials with locally inspired freshness, VIP’s Cafe offers a memorable morning meal delivered with heart. It’s a quintessential Tarzana breakfast spot where the food nourishes, the service embraces, and the atmosphere invites you to slow down and savor your morning.

I had an amazing breakfast experience that deserves more than just five stars! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything from the eggs to the mimosa was spot-on and satisfying. It was one of those meals that makes you pause and appreciate how good a simple breakfast can be. What made the experience even better was the service. Karen was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we walked in. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, and her warm attitude truly stood out. And it wasn’t just Karen—the entire staff was fantastic. Everyone was professional, polite, and worked together seamlessly to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. It’s clear they care about their guests and take pride in what they do. A perfect start to the day. I’ll definitely be returning!

Stopped in for breakfast after my wife's doctor's appointment and we were glad we did. It was jumping when we got there but we were greeted and seated right away. We sat inside the diner at a cozy booth, they have outside seating if you like that too. And they have two large counters as well. I had the Ham and cheese omelet with avocado, crispy hashbrowns (cooked to perfection) and sourdough toast. My wife had Chicken fried steak and scrambled eggs with home style potatoes and sourdough toast. Coffee and fresh squeezed O.J. I had an extra Peach Iced tea. It was all good. The service was excellent. Michael was very nice, he's the owners son and gave a rundown of the restaurants history and how Coach John Wooden used to come in and how they memorialized his favorite booth. Very nice guy. We wish him and him family continued success and much prosperity. The crowd is very eclectic. His parents were very friendly, his dad gave the kids quarters to get stuff out of the vending machines that they have by the entrance. His mom greets every one that comes in. The restaurant is clean. The staff excellent, friendly and very helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend VIPS FAMILY RESTAURANT. Michael told me that there is one located near me in Lake Elsinore, not affiliated, but he knows about it because he gets calls for orders from people from it by mistake and he said if I try them out to be sure to let know that he sent us. I will. They validate parking if you can't find parking on Ventura Blvd in front of the restaurant. I can't say enough good things about this place. You really have to try it for yourself. The food was delicious.

I’ve been to this place twice and I like it though I find the food to be rather bland, but that’s not really a diss. It’s good overall it just doesn’t have the flavor that I’ve been looking for I like it really sweet breakfast and this does not offer that a couple times I’ve tried pancakes. That’s OK. I think this place is a great mom and Pop restaurant and if you’re in the area, you should try it out we can get you In and out rather quick and they have a good space of indoor and outdoor seating. I do think this place is an icon of vent or a Boulevard in the area.

Hidden gem in the valley. I’ve been coming here for over a decade and we’ve watched each other’s families grow. Always a warm and fuzzy feeling when we come here, greeted so nicely every time…with great food to boot! The best pancakes around

Every time we want to eat a hearty breakfast in the valley, we head straight to VIP's. This place never disappoints. The three of us ordered the breakfast special with Belgian waffles, eggs and sausages, the Denver omelet with hash browns and 2 poached eggs with fruit salad. We shared and it was all yummy. This is a family run business that's been a fixture on Ventura Blvd for many years. The owner is super friendly and the service is excellent.

I've been living in the valley for a while. This is my second time visiting and Everytime I visit I see a celebrity. Anyway that's besides the point the food is excellent. It was a party of 3 and we all tried each other's food and we were all pleased. The fried chicken is very delicious. Wish they were open at dinner time...
